Team member experience

15 min read

Our team members' experience is essential to our long-term success, and we strive to create an environment where everyone thrives. Explore our commitment to flexibility, wellbeing, and growth.

Prioritizing team member wellbeing

HealthEquity values the wellbeing of its team members, recognizing it as essential to our long-term success. As a leader in the employee benefits space, we understand how fostering wellness positively impacts both our people and our organization.

Making work fit the life of our team members

We believe work should fit seamlessly into life—not the other way around. That’s why we’ve created a culture that offers teammates multiple ways to make it work for them.

MyTime and PTO

With MyTime, full-time exempt team members enjoy flexible vacation and up to 80 hours of paid sick leave. Non-exempt team members start with 18 PTO days, and all team members benefit from 13 paid holidays each year.

Remote and hybrid opportunities

HealthEquity is proud to offer remote opportunities for almost all our available positions. Some positions require hybrid or on-site work.

Paid leave benefits are available to help team members and their families after life events like childbirth, adoption, or fostering.

Inspiring healthy habits for better living

Team member wellness lies at the heart of our values. Through a range of programs, strategies, and financial incentives, our Benefits & Wellness team empowers team members to prioritize their holistic health and make smarter healthcare choices.

Wellness program

HealthEquity is dedicated to promoting a healthy lifestyle because we know it directly impacts team member wellbeing and health outcomes. Through the CDH Change program, full-time family plan team members can earn up to $1,000 in Health Savings Account (HSA) contributions annually by completing specific health and wellness activities. We also offer an annual fitness expense reimbursement to help teammates stay active in ways they enjoy.

Personal and healthcare financial literacy

To support financial wellness, HealthEquity offers team members a wide range of resources—including the “Healthy Cents” program, providing practical resources and education on financial literacy. Our consumer-directed healthcare sessions share actionable tips to optimize healthcare spending, while quarterly webinars on Medicare and Social Security equip team members with essential financial knowledge.

Building a better workplace through feedback

We’re dedicated to creating a remarkable experience for our team members. To ensure we’re meeting their needs, we regularly conduct anonymous surveys to gather insights on job satisfaction, engagement, leadership, communication, and more.

This process involves an annual experience survey and two additional check-in surveys throughout the year. These surveys help us stay aligned with what matters most to our team members and inform key management decisions about workplace culture, engagement, and retention.

Our surveys track a range of team member experience elements, such as wellbeing, respect, collaboration, inclusion, and innovation—ensuring every voice is heard and every perspective contributes to making HealthEquity a remarkable place to work.

Supporting every step of your career journey

To help team members succeed and grow, we provide the tools and resources needed for learning and career development. Our support ensures that team members can develop their potential while contributing to our mission to save and improve lives by empowering healthcare consumers.

Education

We support team members’ growth by offering up to $5,000 in tuition reimbursement for continuing education.

Through our upskilling program, team members can pursue professional certifications in areas like project management (PMP, CAPM), Lean Six Sigma, Azure, and more. HealthEquity fully covers course fees and certification exam costs through our Tuition Reimbursement Program, making development opportunities accessible and achievable.

Annual Senior Leadership Summit

During this summit, senior leaders gather to discuss key strategic initiatives and participate in development activities designed to strengthen leadership and teamwork.

Sessions focus on areas such as strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on workshops for personal and professional growth. Leaders also engage in Purple with Purpose service projects and receive updates on innovative advancements in products and technology.

Remarkable You

Remarkable You invites every team member to take part in a yearly series of events centered on learning, connecting, and giving back. With workshops covering leadership, emotional intelligence, technical growth, and more, the program empowers team members with skills to support their career development.

Mentorship

The Mentorship Program at HealthEquity provides a valuable platform for team members to form impactful relationships and mentors or mentees. The program offers mentees the chance to explore development opportunities, enhance skills, and engage with colleagues throughout the organization.

Career Navigator

Built by our Talent and People Development teams, the Career Navigator Hub serves as a central resource for HealthEquity team members seeking career guidance. From skill development and goal setting to performance tracking and growth opportunities, this hub equips teammates with the tools they need to advance and succeed.

Temporary On-Project Specialist (TOPS)

This program allows Member Service Specialists to explore different areas of the business. Participants gain valuable cross-functional experience by supporting various teams – helping them work toward their personal and professional development goals.
